A brief history of Hildale
Hildale was first established in 1952 by the late Hilda Playle and over the years has provided training in dance, drama and singing for children of Hockley, Rochford, Ashingdon, Canewdon and surrounding areas.
Carol Bebbington became Principal in 1989 and the school continued to expand.
In January 2000 Hildale proudly opened two new spacious studios in Main Road Hockley (behind Danielle’s) making a total of three well equipped dance/drama studios.
Both dance and drama produce a major production bi-annually staged at a local theatre and all children/students are given the opportunity to take part if they so wish.
To achieve a good balance when the dance show is being produced the drama department will prepare for Lamda examinations then the following year dance students will prepare for ISTD examinations whilst the drama students work towards their show.
The Hildale Aims & Objectives
Hildale is dedicated to providing quality tuition in all faculties, encouraging students to develop creativity and self expression whilst at the same time achieving their full potential in each subject. During class the emphasis is also on enjoyment, confidence and self esteem.
