We do a total of 6 shows , so if your child is grade 3 modern and below, they will do 2 of the performances, either Tuesday and Friday night ,Wednesday night and Saturday Matinee, or Thursday night and Saturday night . If they are grade 4& 5 , they will do three shows, Tuesday night Thursday night and Saturday matinee OR Wednesday night Friday night and Saturday night. Grade 6’s and above do all 6 performances.
The show starts at 7.15 and will be finished by approximately 10pm, the matinee starts at 2.30 and finishes approximately 5.15
We endeavour to keep costs down on costumes but obviously wish for the children to all look immaculate and professional. We aim for parents to not have too much to pay on top after you have paid your deposits .
Most of the costumes are yours to keep, however, we do sometimes hire costumes and you would be notified of this.
All of the doors backstage are security coded and only designated dressers are allowed to stay with the performers.
We do need a certain amount of ‘licensed chaperones’ (with dbs certificates) HOWEVER we do still need plenty of dressers to help us get the children ready so please please do offer your services to help us ! Please be aware , if you are dressing , you must stay in the changing room and cannot go up to the stage with the children , or go into the auditorium to watch the show.
Generally, Mums will dress one show and watch one show, but understand that some children are better with a different mum.
Please be aware, siblings and family members will not be allowed into the backstage areas for your child’s safety.
The show will be filmed 3 nights . Personal filming of the show is forbidden.
There is a large car park adjacent to the theatre.
The children in lower school (Tots – Grade 3 modern inc) will be required for one Saturday and one Sunday rehearsal , as well as a dress rehearsal on one Saturday in June 2026, they will also be required for a technical rehearsal at the theatre in Chelmsford date TBC.
A show fee of £60 will be charged to all children & students – This will cover the cost of all rehearsals at Greensward and rehearsal time at the theatre as well as your personal download link to all the recordings of the shows.
These rehearsals will be held at the Greensward Academy in Hockley , details to follow.
The children will have one technical rehearsal at Chelmsford Civic Theatre – details to follow.
For all of the children’s safety the doors will be locked immediately before the performance and will not be reopened until the show is finished . No child will be allowed to leave halfway through the performance.
The children should arrive no later than 6.30 for their performance.
They will need light snacks, drinks, something to entertain them if they wish, electrical items such as iPad etc. are not encouraged due to backstage being so busy. If they are brought to the theatre, we cannot be responsible for any breakages.
Children and students should arrive with hair and make up ready for their first number. (Please note , make up is optional for our pre school children)
